Finite Element Analysis Engineer – ANSYS. Our client is currently seeking talented FE Analyst / Structural Engineer to join their team and support them with a new Offshore Wind project.
This is a Senior / Lead / Principal role - To Review, comment and approve Structural drawings for steel structures based upon Engineering Design. Essential to have senior engineering FE analysis experience using ANSYS. – ideally offshore structures. Would suit Senior / Principal / Lead.

Role
- Perform Structural Analysis tasks in Finite Element Analysis using ANSYS.
- Performing detailed stress analysis of offshore structures using the Finite Element Technique.
- Structural Analysis tasks by means of modeling in company standard structural analysis software (SACS, STAAD, and GT-STRUDL).
- Detailed design calculations in accordance with the requirements and the latest Industry Codes and Standards including statutory rules and regulations (DNV GL, API, AISC, EC).
- To Prepare high-quality Design Reports and to maintain records in accordance with Department Operating Procedures
Experience
- Degree in Mechanical / Civil/ Structural/ Design Engineering or similar.
- Experience of delivering high-quality Structural Engineering using Finite Element Analysis.
- Highly Skilled in using ANSYS for FEA.
- Ability to apply engineering principles to solve challenging problems and to work effectively within a small team.
- Background in the design of structures for oil & gas, offshore wind. Or Aerospace.
Advantage
- Offshore Wind Foundation design practices and developments
- Any knowledge of T&I for Offshore Structures eg review Sea Fastening/ grillage designs of all components during transportation, crane lift & rigging plans
- Offshore wind regulations, codes of practice, and design standards
- Ideally Chartered Engineer or progressing towards charted status.
- Experience in programming using Python is an advantage.
Role type: Outside IR35 Contract OR Permanent (flexibility)
Location: UK or EU
Hybrid working (3/4 days a week in office, 1/2 at home), 40 hours per week
NB: please note it is essential to have FEA experience & B Eng/ MEng Engineering degree
