Commercial Manager & Head of Procurement – Utility/ Energy / Offshore Wind. The Role As Commercial & Procurement Manager you will lead a team to reduce the cost of ownership for developer of a large new offshore wind farm. This is wide ranging and lead role - Mix of business development and strategy, management as well as hands on Contract Management. You will have commercial experience in energy / utility at a senior level during design, delivery and construction phases for all projects. Essential to have experience as senior/ lead in commercial function in large scale energy or utility. Must have Degree in either Engineering, Construction or Commercial. Aim: Working with a team of contract managers you will ensure successful procurement and commercial delivery of all contracts (both pre and post contract) and reduce the total cost of ownership, hit targets and improve procedures and standards. You will manage the Procurement and Commercial services ensuring Ensure legal, financial, risk & quality controls are met including audit requirements, internal project governance guidelines and external regulatory requirements including compliance to EU Regulated Procurement Guidelines ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE: • Background in Energy &/ Utility – ideally Offshore Wind. • Extensive experience in delivering procurement and commercial services. • Experience in complex, large scale multi-disciplinary bank financed Joint Venture projects. • Understand the financial aspects and implications of complex capital projects. • Extensive knowledge and experience of EU regulated procurement processes. • Experienced in drafting and interpreting large scale & complex commercial contracts. • Knowledge of the relevant conditions of contract eg BIMCO, FIDIC, NEC, LOGIC • Oracle Purchasing Systems, IBM Emptoris, SAP Ariba or other e-tendering tools. • Manage all post contract commercial matters eg Claims management experience. • Engineering or Construction or Financial degree NB: please note it is essential to have senior / leadership experience in procurement and contract management in large scale utility/ energy provider.
